Useful bits and pieces to know

Governing body

The General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) is an organisation which regulates the osteopathic profession. The title of ‘osteopath’ is protected and as such you need to have completed a course recognised by the GOsC in order to call yourself an osteopath.

To find out more about the GOsC and how it protects your rights as a patient, go to www.osteopathy.org.uk.

Products we use

At Nimble Osteopathy, we are conscious of what we put on and in our body, so we care about what we put on yours too.

Approximately sixty per cent of what you put on your skin ends up in your bloodstream, so we have chosen a local (ish), all natural massage balm as our main massage product in the clinic.

Our favourite brand is Oleo. Oleo Bodycare is a range of award-winning, all natural body care products made in Bridport (Dorset), by aromatherapist Olivia Chapman.

The only other alternative we use in our clinic is Songbird. Now based in Somerset, the original recipe and ingredients are from New Zealand.
